NY-Based Asset Management Firm Seeking Writer/Content Curator

Our client is a 20 year old Asset Management firm specializing in debt oriented investment. They have a new Writer/Content Curator position. They are on a mission to build-up their marketing and communications function. Position reports to one of the founders and is located in midtown Manhattan.

Be responsible for collaborating with the firm’s management and business teams to develop and manage content and reprints for all digital and print media and PR related distribution channels. You will also be responsible for assisting with the execution of media, PR and communications strategies.

The ideal candidate will be a superb financial writer with an SEO background and will be passionate about developing content that strengthens the firm’s brand. Candidates for this position must be able to turn complex financial subject matter into compelling copy that informs and educates the firm’s constituencies, while promoting the firm’s array of investment products and solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of an array of communications including, but not limited to: marketing collateral, web and social media content, blogs, press releases, email communications, editorial articles, white papers and case studies
  • Designs and implements SEO strategy by identifying appropriate keywords/phrases and storylines
  • Helps to develop social media presence; oversees the firm’s LinkedIn page and associated employee profiles
  • Maintains all content across digital and print channels; manages a content calendar
  • Works with business teams to draft and disseminate press releases; reports on press coverage
  • Prepares press kits and fact sheets; preps business teams ahead of media interviews/calls
  • Manages award submission process and identifies new awards for pursuit
  • Assists with media planning and management of an editorial calendar
  • Conducts research on media and industry trends
  • Maintains documentation of procedures and processes
  • Files and categorizes media clippings; oversees purchases of reprints
  • Fields phone calls from the media
  • Assists with maintenance of various database segments

Requirements:

  • BA/BS required with a strong academic background
  • Approximately 4-8 years related experience with a financial company and/or PR agency with financial clients
  • Superb writing, editing, proofreading and idea development skills
  • Experience with social media platforms, SEO and SEM
  • Technically proficient
  • Organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, positive and professional attitude
  • Self-starter; can work independently

Base salary $100K-$125K plus 15%-20% target bonus (with the potential for larger target bonuses, and of course a larger base salary, in the future).
