Wall Street Journal Seeks Editor for Real-Time Desk

The WSJ Real-Time Desk in New York seeks an editor to help steer coverage of business and corporate news. The person in this position will serve as the desk’s lead editor on big, breaking corporate news stories. This editor will also directly manage a team of reporters who write stories based mostly on corporate disclosure – including quarterly earnings reports, mergers and acquisitions, and important executive changes, among other types of news.

Responsibilities include determining which press releases and securities filings are worthy of immediate coverage, guiding reporters to quickly frame the context of the developments, and editing and packaging high-profile stories for prominent display on digital platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with other editors and bureau chiefs to set and execute real-time business coverage priorities.

Candidates for this position should have a passion for breaking news, deft news judgment, top-notch writing skills, editing experience, and strong communication and organizational skills. Experience as a manager is a plus, but not essential. Please contact Steve Wisnefski if interested at: stephen.wisnefski@dowjones.com
