Communications Strategy Group Seeking Content Associate -Financial Services

CSG’s financial and professional services practice is seeking to hire a full-time junior content writer with 3 to 5 years of financial services expertise for its NYC office. We are looking for a talented, creative and conceptual thinker with a passion to dig deep to deliver outstanding work for our clients. The writer is responsible for creating strong, brand-appropriate content. Thinking like part PR account representative, part publisher and part journalist are at the core of this position, and will require an expertise in all things related to content development.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the asset management, banking and payments, insurance and professional services teams, to determine the conceptual and copy direction of the content deliverables
  • Develop and write compelling and impactful long- and short-form content (such as white papers, bylined articles, blog posts, brochure copy, video scripts, and more), based on information gathered through research and interviews with subject matter experts
  • Write high-level messages, headlines and talking points for use in a variety of content formats
  • Work with account strategists to ensure copy tone and style are consistent and on-point
  • Stay on top of important industry themes and topics for various clients and commit to advancing your own personal growth and development
  • Manage own workload and deadlines within the financial services practice, reporting to our content director
  • Proof-read and edit agency communications to ensure accuracy
  • Contribute to a culture of content innovation and teamwork

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of solid writing experience within the financial services industry and/or with a news media organization(s).

  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to AP Style
  • Strong conceptual thinking
  • Proven editorial skills, an outstanding command of the English language and a “nose” for the story
  • Experience in how to tell a story using words, images and/or audio, and an understanding of how to create content that draws and engages an audience
  • Excellent verbal, communications and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience collaborating with compliance and/or legal departments is a plus
  • Experience writing in an SEC/FINRA/FDIC compliant manner is a plus
