Dealreporter Seeking Lead M&A Columnist

Dealreporter is looking for a lead writer to add to our New York-based team that produces the Morning Flash, a daily email read by many of NY’s top fund managers. Each morning, the Morning Flash team picks out hints of future material developments in merger arb and special situations by combing through transcripts, SEC filings, analyst reports and news stories. This raw data is combined with proprietary insights and commentary to produce an exclusive report that offers short and long-term actionable ideas. The Flash is delivered to Dealreporter subscribers around 9:30 am and to a wider audience later in the day.

Desired Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will be an avid reader who can string together data points to find actionable and relevant opportunities in an evolving universe of special situations and announced transactions. The candidate should also exhibit strong leadership skills as he or she will need to be able to manage and coordinate resources from a global team of journalists and analysts. This person needs to have a solid understanding of corporate finance and governance. Interest in a particular sector like technology or energy is a plus. In addition to the requisite analytical skills, the position requires an early riser with the ability to write in a clear and engaging manner. The position is open to candidates with financial or journalist backgrounds. Contact Greg Falkowski at greg.falkowski@dealreporter.com
