Pensions and Investments Seeks Associate Editor, Investment Content

Salary: $90,000/year

Job Description:

Pensions and Investments is looking for a new, full-time role as Associate Editor of Custom Content for a growing division that promotes thought-leadership on institutional investment strategies by leading asset management firms. You will focus on key topics of interest to pension funds and defined contribution plans, including asset allocation, risk management, ESG and sustainability, OCIO, emerging markets and the macro-economic environment.

You will edit and produce multi-channel custom content across print, digital, and video and report to the Director of Content Solutions.

You will join a small, dynamic team that handles multi-project content which is focused on helping retirement plan executives better manage their investment portfolios and, ultimately, better serve their plan beneficiaries. You will interact with top executives at asset management firms and other industry providers to produce current and timely content.

Responsibilities:

Edit and manage custom content:

  • Copy edit and proof-read products at multiple stages
  • Review and finalize copy editor- and sponsor-approved corrections
  • Help manage freelance writer pool, track interview schedule and order transcripts
  • Help produce interview questions on specific market segments
  • Manage all content elements for digital products, particularly visual elements
  • Moderate audio webinars and interview sponsors for social media videos

Write custom content products and promotional copy:

  • Write short custom content pieces, such as Investment Insights
  • Write promotional and descriptive copy, print and digital
  • Help write descriptive copy for all sales-related material
  • Stay current on all P&I editorial content
  • Help develop ideas for new products

Oversee and write survey summaries:

  • Oversee custom research surveys by external vendors
  • Write summaries that highlight trends based on the data results
  • Liaise, and eventually lead, survey projects for external clients
  • Help create internal survey questionnaires, as needed

Skills Required:

  • At least five years writing and editing institutional investment content, with a portfolio of samples to show
  • Writing or creating digital and video content
  • Multi-project management in energetic work environment
  • Strong attention to detail in proofing
  • Strong attention to deadlines, with experience in a tight deadline environment
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Powerpoint

Skills Preferred:

  • Online interview and/or webinar moderation
  • Use of Adobe for editing: InCopy and Indesign
