Association for Corporate Growth Seeking Digital Editor

The Association for Corporate Growth is looking for a Digital Editor to oversee the organization’s web publishing strategy, manage its Wordpress site, produce newsletters and more. The Digital Editor will be tasked with creating an online strategy to extend the reach of ACG’s print content and develop relevant online-only content to engage readers, who include business and finance professionals. 

This role is part of ACG’s Media Team and will work closely with the editorial and marketing teams, other internal stakeholders, freelance writers and guest contributors. The position requires creativity, flexibility, impeccable attention to detail and a professional demeanor.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Specific duties will include the following: 

  • Build and maintain website publishing calendars to ensure a steady stream of relevant content for readers 
  • Post articles daily in Wordpress and oversee general website maintenance 
  • Track performance metrics in Google Analytics, incorporate findings into digital publishing strategy, and build reports using key metrics 
  • Develop content for weekly newsletters, including succinctly and compellingly summarizing web content 
  • Evaluate and respond to inbound pitches from PR firms, guest authors and freelance writers to determine fit with editorial focus and suitability for publishing 
  • Write web posts highlighting industry news, ACG events, new hires and promotions, etc. 
  • Work collaboratively with Media Team and other departments to ensure digital strategy is integrated with other ongoing initiatives, including print cycles, social media and more 
  • Continually innovate and recommend modifications to digital strategy based on reader behavior and web publishing best practices 
  • Support Media Team in other activities, which may include writing and editing articles for print, reporting from in-person events, writing and editing video and podcast summaries, etc. 
  • Stay up to date on industry news and trends, happenings across the ACG network, and best practices in digital publishing 
  • Other duties as assigned 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in a related role  
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or similar, or an equivalent combination of relevant background, skills and experience  
  • Experience working in Wordpress; HTML knowledge preferred 
  • Experience covering finance, mergers and acquisitions and/or private equity is strongly preferred 
  • Experience using Photoshop to edit images is preferred 
  • Experience with AP Style is preferred 
  • Basic video editing is preferred, but not required
