The Wall Street Journal’s Heard on the Street column is seeking a numerate writer to be based in New York to cover media, telecommunications and retail. The successful candidate will be an experienced journalist with a strong analytical bent and a high comfort level with finance and accounting who is able to generate column ideas and take a view. This writer will collaborate with colleagues based around the world.
Heard is the Journal’s home for financial analysis and commentary. It’s a global team that writes sophisticated, quick and sharp commentary on markets, companies and economies. We question conventional wisdom and dig deeply into the numbers to give readers deep insights into business and investing. We have exposed scams, highlighted flaws in corporate strategy and, occasionally, tilted at windmills.
The position reports to Heard on the Street Editor Spencer Jakab.
