SCS Financial seeks a senior financial writer for its Marketing and Communications team to write and edit a variety of investment and wealth strategy materials that showcase the firm’s intellectual capital and key differentiators. This professional will also write and help create new materials across print and digital formats as the firm expands its marketing programs over time.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the candidate should have extensive editorial experience, with the ability to start with a blank page or provide comprehensive edits and strategic direction.
The candidate must have expertise in asset management, including investment strategy, asset allocation, public markets and alternative investments.
The candidate should understand the high net worth audience and the investment professionals who serve them. This professional will write clear, compelling content that helps increase client and prospect engagement, in a manner consistent with SCS’s brand and market positioning.
This person will be expected to clearly articulate SCS’s investment strategies, research and processes, and also showcase the investment expertise of the investment managers to whom the firm allocates capital.
Publications include monthly and quarterly reports on topics such as asset allocation and overall investment strategy; taxable bonds and public equities; and alternative investments including private equity, private credit and hedge funds; client letters and newsletters; and white papers.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Partner with the investment group and client service group to write and develop compelling, high quality publications for use with sophisticated clients and prospects
• Partner with the institutional group to write and develop compelling, high quality publications for use with SCS’s hedge fund of funds clients and prospects
• Write content that aligns with the SCS brand voice; help ensure the consistency and integrity of investment messaging
• Write and deliver regular and ad hoc investment communications in a compelling, educational, and technical nature, with sensitivity to strategy-specific or market developments • Proactively identify investment communications opportunities
• Tailor messaging to the intended audience • Meticulous editing and proof reading
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Requirements:
• 7-10+ years of professional writing experience, preferably within the wealth management/asset management industries • Deep investment expertise across traditional and alternative asset classes
• Skilled at producing effective and compliant marketing communications for multiple mediums • Excellent writing skills, with proof of success
• Strong attention to detail; accurate
• Familiarity with the industry and working technical proficiency/command of investment management concepts
• Ability to create effective messaging and copy for PowerPoint slides
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
• Good interpersonal skills; desire and ability to work in a small-team setting
• Ability to manage a full workload and respond to shifting priorities
• Proactive and solutions-oriented; innovative
• Strong organizational skills and project management experience
