We are looking for an investigative reporter to join one of America’s most innovative newsrooms and take on stories that will surprise, probe deeply, test underlying assumptions and bring change.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A track record of aggressive, resourceful reporting and landing investigative scoops
- A gift for weaving revelatory reporting into authoritative, powerful narratives
- An openness to different kinds of storytelling, from traditional longreads to whatever new forms emerge on the social web
- A history of, and dedication to, collegiality and collaboration

We’d also ask that you to submit a memo that describes what you’d most want to report on at ProPublica. Lay out a project you think we should do and tell us how you would execute that project. What might specific stories be? How should they be told? How would you imagine achieving impact? Show us how you think.
