Asia Times Online (atimes.com) is looking to hire an experienced financial writer to work part time in writing a regular financial blog that takes in scoops, gossip, breaking regulatory news and sell-side research from China/other Asian stock exchanges.
AT is a 17-year-old Hong Kong-based blogger and news website that covers geopolitics, economics, business, and intelligence from an Asian view.
Compensation would be $1,100 US monthly. Hours: About 2.5 hrs per day, 12.5 hrs per week, 5 days week, taking into account next-day Asian time zone. Blogs would be filed by 10-10:30 am ET daily.
Material: daily comment from Asian investment houses, sell-side research reports, trading floor gossip, etc. would be forwarded to writer by e-mail. Material would be combined in a chatty blog format that would run about 600-650 ws.
China/Asia interest, knowledge of Mandarin useful. Can be based in NY or U.S. Other work may be available.
