Forbes is looking for a creative and experienced business journalist to cover CFOs and all they do. This journalist will report and write articles for and about financial officers, will recruit and oversee contributors covering the area as their beat, will oversee any Forbes lists related to CFOs, and will also handle any other related opportunities that arise and serve as the public face of Forbes’ CFO coverage (possibilities might include speaking at conferences, creating podcasts, and creating and/or participating in CFO-focused live events).
Responsibilities:
- Research and write articles about the CFO community and CFO activities—as an industry, as an economic force, as a cultural force, as individual stories, and as a field of opportunity and entrepreneurship and advancement—including covering breaking news, profiling important personalities, and posting on outside studies and rankings.
- Recruit and oversee a growing team of outside contributors writing about CFO-related matters on the Forbes.com platform.
- Oversee and prepare for publication any Forbes’ rankings related to the topic area.
- Represent Forbes as its editorial expert on CFOs at conferences and in other ways, as needed and appropriate.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or another appropriate field.
- At least three to five years’ business reporting and writing or editing experience.
- Experience covering CFOs as a journalist and/or engaging in other activities that build awareness of and knowledge about the subject.
- A passion for the CFO realm as a matter of great importance to the workforce and in American life.
