The Wall Street Journal seeks an enterprising reporter to cover a crucial corporate beat: the companies behind the U.S. fracking boom.
The successful candidate should be able to produce high-impact scoops, analytical pieces and compelling narratives on the shale drillers that have turned the U.S. into a global power in oil and gas production. They should be able to think creatively about the beat and bring to life for a sophisticated global audience the economic and geopolitical ramifications of the U.S. energy renaissance.
Prior experience covering energy is useful but not required. Rather, candidates should have a proven ability to develop sources, master complex topics, write clearly and authoritatively and work well with other colleagues. This beat requires close cooperation with reporters in London, New York and elsewhere around the world. Candidates should also be creative about approaches to storytelling and committed to connecting with readers digitally.
The position is based in Houston, America’s energy capital and fourth-largest city.
