OTR compares its findings with expectations and look for dislocations or inflection points that provide investment opportunities for our clients. Sources are interviewed via telephone, typically on a quarterly basis, which subsequently provides the basis for OTR’s research.
THE ROLE
The Digital Media Senior Reporter is a full-time position that is tasked with providing relevant and timely marketplace intelligence for the global investment community. Interacting with OTR Global’s clients to discuss research findings is another key part of the role, including both, phone and in-person meetings.
Individual in this role is directly responsible for generating research, conducting interviews with industry sources, analyzing and interpreting gathered information, compiling research reports and presenting findings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive industry contacts beyond public relations spanning digital media universe, including display, video, mobile, social, programmatic and more, and demonstrate the ability to speak to ad agency executives and decision makers, media buyers, advertisers, and other industry contacts about business trends, as well as develop new source relationships.
Individual in this role will work together with DOR, OTR’s editorial team, and Research Operations team to prepare written research for publishing. Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to take ownership along with idea generation are important attributes for an individual in this role.
PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- 5+ years of prior digital media research experience; strong background in the media industry,
Solid understanding of the financial industry and investment basics.
- Extensive established network of media industry contacts, ability to network and proven good track record of developing and maintaining relationships with key industry sources
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, creative problem solving.
- Solid communication skills are a must, specifically the ability to distill and articulate elaborate research findings with brevity, clarity and simplicity.
- The candidate must be a fast learner; ability to multi-task is critical.
- Embrace flexibility and constant change.
- Able to meet deadlines and maintain a flexible schedule in order to work with teams and clients in different world time zones.
- Must be comfortable working in a virtual, multicultural company.
- Must have strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills; Power Point skills a plus.
- Value hard work; display conscientious diligence in action and work.
- Flexibility with travel to industry trade shows and to visit clients
- This can be a remote position for individuals based outside the metro NYC & CT areas.
