Mergermarket is looking to hire a full-time senior reporter to cover Chinese government policy and regulatory developments, focusing on competition/antitrust law, international trade disputes and intellectual property.
The right candidate will be a strong investigative reporter, who can grasp new concepts quickly and has an excellent eye for detail. The candidate should be a persistent reporter, with a competitive attitude toward breaking news and a strong understanding of how policy developments influence business.
The candidate will also be expected to demonstrate a team player attitude as the position entails regular liaising with other journalists around the globe.
The role will be based in Beijing or Shanghai. The right candidate will have an opportunity to travel to conferences, and work with our teams in Brussels, London, Hong Kong and Washington.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of financial or legal reporting experience, preferably in mainland China
- Fluency in Mandarin
- Strong English writing skills
- Ability to work under time pressure as well as produce analytical features
