The Real Deal — the leading publication covering the NYC, South Florida and Los Angeles real estate markets — is looking for an editor to spearhead our suburban NYC coverage.
The position entails editing approximately six full magazines on various topics/markets annually that run as supplements to our main monthly publication. It also includes taking charge of our soon-to-be launched suburban newsletters, which will go out to different markets daily. Duties will run the gamut from coming up with story ideas to cultivating relationships with freelance reporters to working with designers on art/layout concepts from inception to completion. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience as a real estate reporter/editor, be able to generate impeccably clean copy, have an eagle editing eye and have terrific organizational skills. Candidates should also be excited about taking on new responsibilities and figuring out how to best gain traction for our coverage in new markets. Competitive salary. Knowledge of WordPress and InDesign is a plus but not a requirement.
