DESCRIPTION
Al Jazeera America is looking for an Interview Producer to book and produce guest segments for news coverage. This person will also be required to maintain a rolodex of A-list guests and seek out new voices and ensure booking balance.
Please note, as we are a 24/7 news organization, candidates must be available nights/weekends/early mornings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and book guests, coordinate logistics including satellite studios, graphics, and transportation
- Book guests and produce elements for breaking news coverage
- Pre-interview guests and prepare a brief to help the presenter and producer prepare for the interview.
- Coordinate with studio and MCR for recording interviews
- Maintain and update guest database
QUALIFICATIONS
- Well versed in News, both domestic and international
- Experience booking top level guests in a fast-paced news environment
- Must be able to work well in a team environment under pressure
- iNews or other newsroom software skills
- Strong writer
- BA preferred
