Practical Law is looking for a Senior Associate Editor to conduct research, edit and publish Labor & Employment state law resources.
The Senior Associate Editor will:
- Research and edit state-law compliant core resources, including checklists and standard documents, in Practical Law writing style.
- Update and maintain state-law compliant core resources.
- Work with and communicate regularly with remote state contractor editors working on state-specific resources for Practical Law.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least the following skills and experience:
- A J.D. plus 3+ years’ labor & employment legal experience (law firm or Practical Law).
- Experience drafting labor & employment agreements (including non-compete agreements, separation and release of claims agreements, confidentiality agreements and other employment-related agreements) and policies.
- An understanding of and experience advising clients on the various labor & employment state law issues.
- A keen interest in writing and excellent drafting skills, including:- very close attention to detail
- good command of grammar, punctuation and plain English; and- the ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and succinctly.
- Ability to research, draft and edit complex core resources, including practice notes, standard documents and checklists with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task, work effectively with team and work effectively with minimal supervision and Editor editing.
- Capacity to take on and effectively manage additional projects as needed.
