Wall Street Journal Seeks San Francisco-Based Venture Capital Reporter

The San Francisco bureau’s WSJ Pro Venture Capital team seeks two well-connected reporters versed in startups and the venture-capital scene. The openings for reporters, entry level and mid level, couldn’t come at a more important chapter: VC firms continue to face widespread allegations of sexual harassment and an ever-increasing number of investment competitors–initial coin offerings, family offices and SoftBank Group–in the quest for startup stakes.

The entry-level reporter will get a front row seat to highly valued consumer tech startups and more than enough Silicon Valley hype. The beat–which covers on-demand tech services–is a highly competitive one among tech publications in the pursuit of venture deals, startup flameouts and more.

A mid-level reporter will get a shot at breaking news and telling big stories on Palantir, Slack, Dropbox and the next generation of software startups pushing artificial intelligence into corporate America.
