Elliott Bell Ceremony Examines Changing Nature of Journalism

This year’s Elliott V. Bell Award ceremony examined the changing nature of journalism in an increasingly digital world and drew several notable attendees. Following are a few images from the evening, as well as a video of the event.

The 2014 Elliott V. Bell Award was presented to John Huey, the former editor-in-chief of Time Inc., on May 28, 2015. Huey became the 39th recipient of the award, which is named after the NYFWA’s founding president and which recognizes individuals who have made long-term contributions to financial journalism and have had a significant impact on the industry.

As part of the evening, Huey took part in a panel that discussed the evolving nature of business news as it adapts and an increasingly digitized business model (which can be viewed below). He was joined by panelists Martin Nisenholtz, the former digital head at The New York Times who now serves as a professor of the practice of digital communication at Boston University and venture partner at Firstmark Capital in New York; John Geddes, former managing editor of The New York Times and Paul Sagan, an executive in residence at venture capital firm General Catalyst Partners and a director (and former CEO) of Akamai Technologies. The panel was moderated by Andy Serwer, editor-in-chief of Yahoo.Finance.
